Rasta Ozzy was the best Jockey ever to come from Jamaica, he was also the world national Hunt Champion jockey, having won all the biggest races that year.
Ozzy was hired by Sir Walter Swinburn, the greatest race horse trainer in the world and given Red Mist, the best hurdles horse.
At the Aintree Grand National in Liverpool, Ozzy and Red Mist were 1/300 odds on favourites to win the race and with 5 fences to go, thay were well ahead a looking good to win.
As Ozzy and Red Mist took the 5th fence from home, he was hit in the face by a large leg of Ham. This knocked him back a bit but he carried on. At the 4th from home, he was hit on the head by a large Xmas pudding, at the 3rd from home with a box of sticky dates, at the 2nd from home with Scottish shortbread buiscuits and at the last by a bottle of champagne. Ozzy and red mist came in 10th!
When asked by Sir Walter how come he lost he told him he had been "hampered!"
