How many of you plan to be on the Rock when we turn 50?

This video is extremely long, but it was done to entice Jamaicans living abroad to come home for the celebrations. The video really warms the heart and make one feel very proud to be Jamaican Its worth watching to the end

While the video does a great job of promoting Jamaica's natural beauty, Jamaica's music and arts, Jamaica's cuisine etc..., I feel <span style="text-decoration: line-through">a little</span> very disappointed it could not show an economically thriving (safe) Jamaica with a well educated population second to none with plenty of opportunity for those who left Jamaica to not only come back and visit but to come back and invest and thrive and contribute.

Maybe in another 50 years.

But yes, di video nice still.

Bway Milo ..it depends pan who yuh a talk to bout that &quot;thriving&quot; part. Mi know NUFF and I will stress NUFF people who ARE thriving back home. Not to dismiss that they are still many living in poverty and uneducated but our people are resilient and strong no matter what. But I hear you.

I remember seeing a documentary where the host (British guy) said the Jamaican motto could have well been &quot;Out of Many we are Strong&quot;

I would love to be there for the 50th seeing that I was there at the very beginnng in '62 - I am going to the olympics [if dem no bunn down the place by then] will check the dates and see if I can do both. Also have the time as I have 285 hours PTO.

I know I will be there next year....taking likklestormmey an mrstormmey to see my jamaican granmama......waiting until he is at least six months old that would be june so.....prolly by then celebration finish??.

I've made up my mind..I will definitely be in Jamaica for independence next year!!
