Yes ..dats why mi granny name mi "Joelle" ..trying to be cute fi come wid a name weh rhyme wid "Noel"
She actually called me "Joel" and fight bruck seh a bway pickney name dat. 
Wan bag a drama ensued fi change di spelling
My dad hates my name and that's how I ended up with Wendy. He has never call mi by mi real name- NAT ONCE!
To hear my folks talk about how mi end up wid mi names mi canvince seh a pure Gash Almighty mad, mix up, sick inna di head people inna mi family \o/

I don't mind my name at all. Is having to answer to two names was the source of my angst and major confusion .. and still exists today. Girl I have stories fi days wid di whole heap a confusion.
Notice mi have to add "Wendy" to mi name all bout all pan mi website .. not many people know mi by mi real name. Di only place mi did use mi real name in JA was in school. Odda dan dat to strangers I am Wendy.Comment

i have the two name issue as well....den again most ja-cans do.
the ppl in my district know me as my middle name bcus dats wat my parents call me. and all the way up to grade 6 dats wat dem call me as skool. to be honest i use to tink my middle name was my first name and my first name my middle name it wasnt until mi fi go do common entrance and mi look pan mi owna papers and say but stawtp
then in HS they used my first name...
when mi move come farrin mi madda tell most ppl say mi name miggle name. fi di fuss 3 monts on skool i went to the church skool and a nex girl inna mi class did name miggle name so mi tell dem say call mi first name... so di confusion moved come a farrin wid me. most black ppl know mi as miggle name and most whites/ skool and work mates know mi as first name....
