Last Saturday, Marina Shifrin quit her job in a fairly unique fashion: via YouTube.
The University of Missouri journalism graduate worked for Next Media Animation, a Taiwanese company specializing in bizarre CGI reactions to news reports -- some of which go viral, such as this one. But as of Saturday, Shifrin is no longer an employee of the company, having posted a video using Next Media's studio set to Kanye West's "Gone" announcing her resignation.
In the clip, Shifrin reveals the reason for her leave: her boss "only cares about quantity and the views each video gets," causing her job to go from her dream combination of journalism and comedy to a fruitless endeavor. Oh, and girl's got some nice dance moves to drive the point home. Wouldn't you be dancing too if you just quit the job you despise?
The video went viral almost immediately, racking up 6.5 million hits as of Monday night and getting attention on a number of websites.
