One of my favorite Angelou poems

Greetings from Kingston where the mountains hugging the city are green and blue and rimmed with heavy rain-filled clouds. The grass is green and flowers are blooming here off Waterloo Road. It is cool and quiet back here on my mother's fern and orchid laden patio and I am looking out from behind the heavy gauge grill. A slight breeze wafts in smells of a roast beef Sunday dinner and other scents that transport me back to Sundays as a child. Aye sah.

Did some grocery shopping at Mega Mart which is now open 24/7. I asked the cashier if she worked last night as she looked a little tired. She told me, No sah, mi nain work a night. Loaded up cart with local grown yellow June plum, 2 avocado, tomato, cucumber, pac choi, ginger and coffee. Feel to tek Mommy for a likkle drive out to Port Royal fi some fry fish

Mommy inside a study every page is he Sunday Gleaner and The Observer. Front page photo on Observer have David Keane in sick bed with 4 children around him. Apparently he has been in a 'vegetative' state for 10 years and dem praying for a 'miracle.'
