Young Norman Manley and Young Bustamante

Just realize I have never seen photos of Bustamante and Manley's father as young men. Don't say Google is my friend. It turned up nothing. Just curious to see what they looked like.

Also as we know, Manley married his 1st cousin. I have learned recently from speaking with a cousin that 1st and 2nd cousins hooking up was not unusual in Jamaica Maybe in some of the small communities the pool from which one could select was small.

Has this caused any problems health or otherwise? I heard that Michael Manley's brother was quite sickly.

Michael Manley died age 73.
His elder brother Douglas died age 91..was sent as 11 year old to boarding school to one of the coldest places in Jamaica....ax Rich d how cold Coke house gets......Was as brilliant as his father an acedemian, school boy athlete, breaking some of his fathers records at champs, was a boxer, a good shot, played cricket beyond school, was a professor in either Nigeria or Ghana.....he was one of those students who were reknown for their brilliancy decades after they leave school. Something of a minor Jamaican cultural phenomenon veneration of brilliance in students....few years back there was the claim in yanki Dom about the lack of black male role models....
I believe he won a external scholarship fo tertiary education..... So where u get ur information from..

As for cousins marrying cousins, that has been long frowned on in where I am from in ja.. We did like to tease dem German from dung south bout royalty bizness..

In fact one reason why it is so often mentioned that Edna was Normans cousin was it was so unusual.....imho...
Also they met in the UK she is ...not Jamaica...so their actions is hardly a reflection of Jamaican society.....
