Well done.. that was a comprehensive Victory...
in our youth Steths had some teams that were better than West Indies cricket team of today.....It always amazed me back then Junior Barrett the coach would instead of practicing medicine (he was a doctor and then i had the memory of no doctor being available) spent so much time and effort at coaching and providing equipment to them...
But it was instructive and distrubing as then I became aware of students being transfered for sports not acedemic reasons...
I cant help but note that that is was a three day match!!!!!! .

SANTA CRUZ, St. Elizabeth — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) defeated Vere Technical by 263 runs in a commanding performance to regain the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup yesterday.
Scores: STETHS 164 & 225; Vere 67 & 62.
STETHS, the hosts, resumed their second innings on an overnight 67 for 5 and lost Lintel Barnes for 17 when he was comprehensively bowled by Romario Edwards to leave STETHS precariously placed at 70 for 6.
A 70-run partnership in 43 minutes between Shahid Crooks (64) and Markino Mindley (32), gave the STETHS scorecard some respectability. Crooks found another useful partner in Romaine Morris and they added a further 74 runs for the ninth wicket before Crooks fell. STETHS were eventually dismissed for 225 with a lead of 325.
The target was always going to be a daunting one for Vere and they were in early trouble when they lost Rohan Ferguson for a duck with only one run on the board.
From there, the writing was on the wall as Vere continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Three wickets fell without a run being added as Vere were dismissed for 62 and STETHS romped to their 26th Headley Cup title.
After the game, losing coach Dewith Coleman blamed his batsmen, bowlers and the quality of the officiating.
"Poor batting let us down. When STETHS resumed on 67 for 5, we bowled poorly in the pre-lunch session. The target was always going to be difficult, but we should have done better. The umpiring was of serious concern, especially at this level," Coleman said.
His counterpart Clive Ledgister praised his team's effort.
"This victory is the result of hard work. We trained hard and we were always confident that the cup would return home," the STETHS coach said.
