We got lost on the way back yesterday in the hills of St. Ann. at night. You almost got your wish. We had SO many wrong turns and dead ends.

What was funny is when you ax one a de lickle ole man dem fe directions....not one word is jus' pardon, pardon,

Today mi a go spend more time wi ded h droppah dem inna de country. On this side of the family, the only ones who don't do the drop h add ha bizniz are the ones who have migrated and even some a dem a drop h too. Mi guess mi did drop H to before mi lef Jamaica as ever las' one a dem drop H..

Nevah did notice it before bus tru mi a gwan bad pon yan wid all a onoo mi notice it now.

Mi wi gi you one next jok. Mi did tek a nap next door inna de hearly hevening/late haftanoon sake a de music playing, dogs barking, roostah crowing business.

Any way mi cousin (de speaky-spokey one who mi nevah did know could talk patois call mi tru de window. "Tropicana there are some people here to see you. I thought it was her brother's children....im drop H too. So I went to him and say "Your children are here?" "He said "no". I said then "Who is here to see me?" He said "Wi cousin dem from up inna de 'ills". I say "You mean de country people sitting on the verahandah?" :rolf: He said "Yes". Dem really did look country. I know there sister and brother who are in New York. Anyway, finally met them. Hung out with them all night, at de set-up and de next dat a de re-pass (love de way Jamaicans say repas). and de da aftah dah way up innna de 'ills. You should a see de view....GORGEOUS!! Met more cousins. I really enjoyed myself. We brought back enough fruite to open a fruit store.

Anyway mi enjoying miself.

The day before we left, we were sitting on the verandah. A dread ... I mean Rasta with his hair tied up on his head came through the gate.

Shortly after that one of my cousins from the hills followed behind him. (He lives in Kingston now but he had stayed over as the Rasta guy heard we were there and asked him to stay so that he could come see us).

The Rasta guy is a cousin in law and he used to live next door to one of my cousins before she left Jamaica. They were really glad to re-connect. He manages a reggae band. He dropped his h's too.

Anyway it is good to know people who knows Kingston well as he was able to give me some information that I had been looking for for a long time.

So I have met all kinds of people and all are connected to me either cousins or cousins in laws. People from 'ills, people form country, people from Kingston. So I guess if I had never migrated I would be dropping h's too.



In spite a dat, mi still noh want noh man who drop h.




I had a great time and hope to go back soon.
