This is a different topic so I started a new topic. I have worked as a flight attendant. I have worked First Class. I have also travelled all around the world as a passenger in Economy, Business and occasionally First Class. I have travelled on North American, European, Asian, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern airlines. Never once have I seen or experienced anything even remotely close to what you are describing.

The only time one may not get served is if they are sleeping. Instructions are don't wake anybody just for a snack or drink but wake them for a meal.

Standard procedure is to serve the passengers in order...row by row and seat by seat. I have missed out on snacks myself in business class because I had dozed off.

One airline has stickers you can put on your seat to say whether or not you want them to wake you up. I think this is an excellent idea.
