There was one of those things that was scratching at the back of my mind you know something that you know is there but cant recall... Today I grasped it.. The 2000 election attempt.. His wife has an adboted black child and during his primary run he was smeared that the child was his with a black prostitute.... (Saw that in News Week just now..) My memeory is getting old..

I beleive he is an hononrable man... And while the right answer to the lady was what is wrong with being muslim/ arab.. but he is a yanki... An honrable yanki is still a yanki with the same cultural predispositions....

one of my friends said the same thing - what does this say to Muslim or Arab kids born in the U.S.? That they can never aspire to be president of the U.S. because of their heritage?

It is naive to think that Obama's win means that racism will fade away. If anything, I think things will get worse before it gets better because this campaign has shown how deeply entrenched racism still is in the U.S. fabric of life. </div></div>

yea but in some arab muslim countries it's against the law to even openly practice christianity

there was nothing honorable about that campaign...Mccain was a man whom I respected and admired years ago...this campaign just brought out the worst in him...


McCain himself did not need to address the Jeremiah Wright issue..he had the RNC, Palin, and other right wing supporters to do the dirty work for him...

Just like he would not confront Obama directly on the issue but had his pet pitbull on the attack.


Shame on you Senator McCain. Shame on you!

According to the 96 year-old Willis, her twin sister, Roberta McCain, the candidate's mother, has become resigned to her son's electoral fate.

The Republican vice presidential candidate attracted criticism for accusing Mr Obama of &quot;palling around with terrorists&quot;, citing his association with the sixties radical William Ayers.

The attacks provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling &quot;terrorist&quot; and &quot;kill him&quot; until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric.

But it has now emerged that her demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to go even further.

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks.

Michelle Obama, the future First Lady, was so upset that she turned to her friend and campaign adviser Valerie Jarrett and said: &quot;Why would they try to make people hate us?&quot;</span>

The revelations, contained in a Newsweek history of the campaign, are likely to further damage Mrs Palin's credentials as a future presidential candidate. She is already a frontrunner, with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, to take on Mr Obama in four years time.
