profound and those of us who were coming of age when u came to our notice , will forever be grateful for having u come into their existence.....
i fi one know dat ur example was responsible for me wearing the hair cut u made famous....the Makeba , later to be know as the AFRO....yes, u made it famous wen u came to Western view wid ur low cut one....afta ur trip to Ja, it blew up like crazy...even doah mi had to hide mine unda a headtie while at home fi di fuss couple weeks, mi did still dweet and nuff more of us did , defying social norms, challenging school rules
and we fought the fight wid u ....fyah bun apartheid wen nuff in di fuss world still ignored the SA plight an hung awn to dem ties to dem...but u came among us an we embraced u as u embraced us an to dis day ur albums and CDs r played in my household....
an mi is soooo happy that u lived to not ongle see ur song 'piece of ground' prove true but u got to go bak home....
