Anyone understand what this means?

I spotted this comic in the WashingtonPost, I'm not sure how long it's been running but I don't quite get it.

What does 'the list' mean?
Why are the two men sitting so close on the couch after the discussion?
What does the last part mean about "not enough body hair"? I don't get it. I read this comic this morning and have been trying to figure it out since morning!

The one in the blue is female not male.

I was perusing a newspaper someone left and saw this comic strip which had me baffled off and on for the day trying to figure out what it meant? Perhaps some earrings for the girl with the dreads so she doesn't look so adrogynous(sp)?
