Seriously? and I don't know how to word this so it dont come across the wrong way.....but do you think that this is televised because of Obama and not because it is the 30th anniversary?

I ask because the thought did cross my mind...maybe they did it on the 10th an 20th and I never noticed.

watched it.. was miserably interesting.
cant imagine how the dude that watched his 1 year old and wife killed lives with himself.

at the end the documentary mentions how painful the lives of the survivors have been -- the self medication of alcohol &amp; drug abuse

what I couldnt get over was the man who left his son there knowing the child would die ...

i have seen reports of it on before, but never on 2 major cable show in the same week. maybe they did something special on the 10th and 20th, though mi nevah notice dat at the 20 year mark, so yes I did wonder why the increased interest. anyway I did notice that soledad managed to find 1 woman who never identified herself as a survivor until this report. there was wah over 1000 of them and bout 900 plus dead so dat leff quite a few alive

<span style="color: #3333FF">I saw something on the History channel a couple of years ago, it was the first time I really knew what Jonestown and Jim Jones referenced. It had me . They couldn't leave. And apparently, Jim Jones didn't feel the need to make the same sacrifice, he was shot. </span>

NBC Networks always ran a Special because it was their Anchors and Camera Man that was killed, plus they fill their Cable Networks after 10 with stuff on mass crimes.... Manson, Jones, Lock Ups, that kind of fare. Discovery run continuous showings on various whackos including JJ.

If anything this is not strike against Barack it would be more of strike against religious and other cults.

Some people are amazed how some folks continue to worship a dead person long after the man said he was not a God! To be sure no one is suggesting Jonestown here but there is comparison to be made about the ways in which folks are willing to shield themselves from reality and willing join a Cult.

Last year there was a couple documentaries on Channel 4 and BBC on the Jones Town tragedy....

The thing that surprised me was the number of black people there there was involved....

See the thing is I never had TV in Ja... so I assumed it was just white yankis.... So it never bothered me.....it was great to tease guyanese... we win gold, have bob, mickey holding, regaee.. they have clive llyod and Jones Town....
