<span style="font-weight: bold">An ex-cop is $3,000 poorer after he was tricked by a fake policeman</span>.
The incident occurred on Monday in Spanish Town, St Catherine. Reports are that the ex-cop, now a taxi driver, picked up the conman, who told him he was a policeman and that he needed $3,000 to borrow. He assured him that he would be repaid on their arrival in Naggo Head, Portmore.
To convince the ex-cop, he asked that he stop at the Spanish Town Police Station. The conman alighted from the vehicle and walked to the rear of the premises,<span style="font-weight: bold"> touching his side and behaving as if he was a policeman. </span>

Upon returning, he told the driver that he had paid over the money to his colleague and that he must now take him to Naggo Head to collect.
When both parties arrived in Naggo Head, the conman again alighted the vehicle, went through an alley, telling the driver, "don't move, mi soon come back wid yuh ting, 'cause mi waan yuh carry mi go a MoBay to".
<span style="font-weight: bold">After waiting for several hours </span>
and not seeing the culprit, the cabbie returned to the Spanish Town Police Station and related his ordeal. He was told that the man was not a policeman but only came to the station to make a report. The enraged cab driver then made his own report to the police
