Would be robber shot dead by crony

A would-be robber was shot dead by his crony after the two attempted to rob a grocery store in Stony Hill, St. Andrew Thursday night.

Cowen Eddie, 48, who is more popularly known as "Chei" of Brooks Level Road in Stony Hill is dead.

He was shot and killed after he and another man, both of whom were armed with guns, went to a shop in Stony Hill about 10:20pm where Eddie ordered cigarettes.

While being served, Eddie reportedly opened fire, hitting the store clerk.

<span style="font-weight: bold">His crony then started firing wildly and in the process, shot Eddie who died on the spot.</span>
The injured clerk and a patron in the store were taken to hospital.

Then we complain about discrimination,when it faces us. I have spent much time in the company of thousands of armed citizens and never felt as if they were a danger to my life. If Jamaica allow blacks equal opportunit6 to aquiore fire arm locense, I will return and become involved in the economy again.

Ine gun can't orotect any locensed gun holder. Thge criminals simply play the asme game that lions use to catch their prey. The lions seperate one from the pack and kill it. just like how the lion know to use that stratefy the gun men gav eben using it for a long rime. Onel the educated do n9t even recognize the strategy. If the major9ty of Jamaicans are legally armed, the criminals will not fis ot so easy to arrack any to diosarm them,because they knbw that the others that are oaround with a simple signal will cime to their aid.
ever wonder why the criminals don't go to the resturants,bars etc where the patrons are wealthy toi rob them?? That should be easy pickings since the belief is that the criminals will try to disarm th elegal owners of their weapons..
the reason is that where the majoroty is legally armed, cfriminals know better thna to even visit the p[lace. That is called <span style="font-weight: bold">deterrent</span>. deterrent is the safest form of protection. No shoot outs no robbery no violence. sumply because the criminals know that they will recieve no loot,but probably a coffin.
