One ting me notice, wid dis industry and dat industry a ball out fi bail out money, di airlines have been very quiet.

Ah wondah if all di nickle and diming they are doing is helping to keep them afloat. Cause gas cheap now and dem still a charge fi check bag.

passenger travel has fallen off..compared to last year..

sed ting me was saying to a taxi driver bout the fare...gas prices low now..shouldn't the fare be going back down

this airline neva use to charge fi bag, but dem just institute bag fee to go into effect 12/1

A lot of the US airlines, in order to protect themselves from rising fuel prices hedged fuel for the months ahead.

So when fuel was $150/b they hedged at $120/b and lost money couta how di fuel high.

Now that fuel is at $58/b, they still paying the $120/b that they hedge from a while ago.

So no matta how much de fuel cost, eediot management can find a way to lose money.

Yes me know the passenger headcount has dropped. And most airlines cut out some routes and reduced trips on the routes they still service. But whenever the country is in a financial crisis, the airline industry is the first to bawl out to the gov't for help.

Dis time, dem is very quiet.

Me nuh know if any other airline does this, but Spirit charges you to pick a window or aisle seat.

Now, you a select di seat and print yuh owna boarding pass, dat a save dem whole heap a money. And dem have di nerve fi charge yuh.
