I<span style="font-weight: bold"> dont </span>shop at WalMart but it makes no sense to blame them for other ppl's actions. Ppl can think for themselves and know that their actions suck but dont care how it affects others around them.Comment

i am still waiitng for that one thing that is soooo ultra important to me that I am going to brave cold and wake up early to go join a line to buy. Any idiot should know this is a recession the sales they offer on b/f will be teh same in teh weeks leading up to christmasComment

exactly. I have NEVER done the box day sale thing either. No damn way anything is that desirable to drag my butt out of a warm bed after eating too much turkey on Christmas day to stand in line with a bunch of idiotic, pushy ppl looking for one likkle discount.

well IMHO Wal-Mart cannot be blamed for the 'pack mentality' of a group of inconsiderate ppl who had no care for others around them. selfish aholes stomping over others, and for what? 50% off a paira shoes? Ricockulous.

seriously? Simple..... crowd control.
They should have taken into account that they KNOW ppl go stupid-crazy over these day-after-Thanksgiving sales, and planned for it. they shoulda put up some roped-off line markers and had employees out there directing crowd traffic, instead of just letting ppl pile up outside the doors crowding and crushing to get in. Kohl's where i live did just that, yes there were looooonnnnng lines to get in and to make purchases, but it was well managed. The heavily trafficked counters - like jewelry and electronics, had a "take a number" line set up, and the other lines were directed by store employees keeping control of the line and advising ppl when the next cashier was free. the point is, the store took steps in advance for the anticipated chaos, and <span style="font-style: italic"> in advance </span>of opening the doors, had a plan in place to ensure crowd management.
yeh ppl were frustrated at the long lines of course, but hey whaddya expect on this day? They all stood in line, made their purchases, and left alive.....
so IMHO WalMart <span style="font-weight: bold">does</span> bear some responsibility, for not planning for crowd management. They could EASILY have given a half hour of thought to how they were gonna manage the day's business, planned for some employees to stand at the front and end of the lines, placed line markers to direct traffic, etc. But clearly, nobody bothered to think of that in advance. and now they face a wrongful death lawsuit from the person's family - as they should, cause IMHO the store mgmt was jus too dyam lazy to anticipate and plan properly.Comment

Most of these sales papers come out on Wednesday. Most retail store have a 30 day gaurantee not only on the product but also on the price
. So, If most customers go to the store on Wednesday, during moonlight madness (they're open later). Purchase what they needat the current price. Guess what department is the slowest on black Friday? Customer Service & Returns. All you need to bring is your reciept. BING BANG BOOM, you get your cash back. So you get the same savings in a relaxed atmosphere and no trampling.

My reasons for boycotting Walwart go much deeper then just supm like dis. And yes Walwart as well as the fools are at fault. Walwart under the law is at fault for not providing a safe place. But maybe they'll be above the law in this case.Comment

At say $25 dollars and hour just how much more security you can afford before you start shipping more Red Ink than when you started?
Of course I am not defending World-Mar but there are cost and trade offs involve in most any undertaking.Comment

they are hand in hand with the gov't and everyone else with this so-called black friday craze;
