Not you in particular...I am speaking of Jamaican Christians ---who have a long history of attacking what they don't understand ... And defaming the prophets with salacious stories as in your initial post....curious considering the title of the thread

so wat Jamaican Christians have to do with this , as u would ask….I AM THE ONE WHO POSTED THIS……it is an excerpt from the paper which , as u see, spurred a logical n sensible response from the Wahalla……ignorance is denying that which is fact just to maintain an ideal vs reality….feh…the fact that Howell had human failings, one being his perceived sexual prowess , does not detract from the fact that he channelled the establishment of what is taken to be the first Rasta settlement….

the sad part is that you don't even see how this could be offensive to ones and ones...

am reading ur brother's book n things he mentions has me seeking out further references….i have read Nettleford's paper on Rastafari but have to admit that i did not know or had forgot that he initially did the research on the behest of Father Manley….i also did not know about Howell's wife being white nor his , shall we say, fondness of the opposite sex….that bit has not been bandied about a lot…his supposed mental illness, yes, but not that bit…it is understandable given the take re spreading of seed etc….it is a blessing, this thing called the internet as it opens up avenues, previously only accessible by visits to libraries etc….love it….As a Ras, i enjoy finding out the nooks n cranny of the movement….blemishes and all….i am awaiting the delivery of HIM Haile Selassie's autobiographyThe Autobiography of Emperor Haile Sellassie I: King of All Kings and Lord of All Lords; My Life and Ethiopia's Progress 1892-1937

i confess that i wanted to read that autobiography as a young adult.

howell was more layered individual and there is definitely some evidence of mental issues..Thgis came from a Ras who was at Pinnacle.. not simply a poltical ploy...and yes i know any critique of Howell is met with defensive protest

you can't hide your bias or maliciousness but then neither have jamaican Christians in general when it comes to hatred of their fellow countrymen of the Rastafari faith...
