Toll Road With Adjustable Toll

In Miami there is a new express lane toll road. It goes in effect in a couple days. The road is on a busy section of interstate 95, and if you opt to drive in the express lane, there will be a toll.

The toll can very between 25 cents and $6.50. How it varies depends on how heavy the traffic is. If you travel at 11 AM on a Tuesday and the roads are clear, the fee will be .25, if you are traveling during morning or evening rush hour the feel will be $2.50, if happen to be on the road and traffic is severly backed up the fee can go up to $6.50.

they have a toll road here and dem have off peak rate ..but the differential is only about 4%

btw it must be the most expensive toll road in all of NA..they charge 19 cents per KM

Are they going have a sign that says how much you going get charge, or its going to be a surprise an you find out when your Sunpass run out of credit?

There is a sign at the begining of the express lane. But I wonder if you will be able to view the sign and have time to decide yay or nay.

I wonder if it will help with congestion or make it worse. Cause in reality you're loosing half a lane (volume-wise) since some people won't pay and will full up the remaining lanes.
