long time mi no leave a movie an soooooo [censored] off..fi real...u haffi see dis movie and u haffi stay an read all the info ...mi did know it but mi know seh nuff peeps no know di history

an to tink dem seh blacks lazy, tief etc...di amount a white people whe still a live good offa wat dem tief, co-opt etc from blacks from way bak...ah sah...

di yute whe write an direct dis movie need di help....it ha limited theatre offerings but the script is fabulous and the actors/acting is fabulous and the music is divine....

Blu and Jah Yute, oonoo need fi tek a posse go seet...like how TD Jakes upcoming movie a offer group bookings fi go see fi him crap, dis yah movie need to be seen...fi real...

an while mi deh yah, fyah bun nuff a dem artist whe it tek up till recently, fi dem pay dem ole blues people whe dem tief...from Beach Boys go up to Rolling Stones etc

an mi note di date of how some of the founders of rock and roll neva reach di hall of fame till lately while nuff whites reach from 20 yrs ago...

di odda actors are great...di guy who plays Muddy Waters, is di said guy who juss play felix di CIA agent in di James Bond an u done know him from playing MLK from way bak plus di hispanic badguy in Shaft wid Samuel J...so u know him can act

di bredrin who play Likkle Walter di harmonica player is wiiiiiiikkkedd...him is definitely brilliant

Thanks for that review. Cause of course they were hyping up Beyonce in the trailers....and she is painful to watch when she not singing and/or dancing.

Generally - I agree Evano.

Saw this last week at work and I was so unimpressed with Beyonce. She always seems to me, like she's &quot;trying&quot; &quot;trying&quot; to act. You can't really see anything else but her &quot;trying&quot; to act.

She NOT an actress.



What surprised me about the movie was that over the past months, it seemed like it was being hyped as a movie about Etta James and all you could hear was Beyonce playing her - and it's not - it's more than that.

I'm not a Beyonce hater but dang, she's overrated.

Mi si nuff movie ah reddi 'bout how white man tief aff black man music suh dis nay suprise mi ar opin mi yie yie to much.

an u know wat is the irony of dat movie and di info it tells, is dat tings have not changed...we still not tekking care of bizniz as we should....mek di bling ovashadow weh we need fi do...true, bak den,u had laws on the books wid courts bakking dem up as to wat blacks could an could not do, hence, di Jewish guy mekking his way out using dem black musicians etc....

yes i plan to go see it; i have 2 etta james tunes on my i-pod;
as far as the other stuff...
it is what i expect;
blacks in america are still unaware of the power in their hands;
it is difficult to see themselves without the context of white people...so as we should be thinking of ways to be rewarded for our hard work we only think of ways to give back what we earn to mainstream society;
the new moguls like russell &amp; puffy &amp; j dupree have made strides but until there are some black distribution companies we are still basically getting played for pittance;
music biz always been a mafia type thing but there should already be at least 20 nmulti-billion black music &amp; entertainment companies in america...
it is our own actions why this is not here
