NEW YORK - Media conglomerate Tribune Co. has filed for bankruptcy protection.
The owner of the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Cubs and other properties has $13 billion in debt.
In a press release, the company said <span style="font-weight: bold">"The Chicago Cubs franchise, including Wrigley Field, is not included in the Chapter 11 filing</span>. <span style="font-style: italic">Efforts to monetize the Cubs and its related assets will continue</span>
