proven that the mother and father were the lady's genetic parents?
Maybe it was a one in a million occurance?

dark-skin ppl with blue eyes likely have waardenburg syndrome. many years ago i met a dark-skinned deaf girl in Kingston with bright blue eyes - she had that condition.

i was trying to find a site with a simple explanation of dominant and recessive traits, but didn't have much luck. as far as i can tell, a dominant trait (dark-skin) must have one parent with it for the child to be dark skinned. a recessive trait (light skin), must have both parents with recessive traits.

but anything is possible. atavism does exist - there's a child right now somewhere in one of those far east countries with an atavistic tail, who is being revered as a god - but such kind of &quot;throwbacks&quot; are apparently rare.

yes Uswe I think either one of the parents was mixed and passing with success or both kids are a jacket. it does not appear that DNA testing was done just a paternity test.

MGee I read where they are now saying that Atavism is more of a genetic mutation than the throwback previously thought. similar to the extra fingers and that sort of thing.

Like alot of mixed-raced creole people who left New Orleans in the thirties, moved to California, and passed for white?

So if paternity was proven? And her mother gave birth, and one or both of them aren't mixed passing as white, what then?
