There are varying degrees of racism in all of these countries.
But a clear distinction needs to be made between liking, and being
tolerant of something. Whats just as, if not more important, is tolerance.
You cannot legistlate to make people like you, but you can legistlate
to ensure tolerance of race, colour, religion, creed, sexual orientaion etc.

I disagree with Newtral. The uk is far more racist than the usa. I have LIVED in both countries and I stand by that.

How many black actors, sports celebrities, millionaires, TV presenters, singers, R&amp;B artists, doctors, judges, professors can the uk claim. Very few and token few in most areas. The uk is institutionally racist and they are very subtle with it. An englishman CANNOT stomach having a &quot;black&quot; manager, or boss. Having a nice house, car etc. &quot;Too much&quot; money in the bank = EXTRA suspicion if you're 'black'. The police force in this country is a joke with even the highest non white police ranking officer is NOT 'black'!! Yet he faces racism from his white colleagues. Those of african heritage in the uk are passified, not hungry for change and has no fight for change. They are comfortable being exactly where they are - at the bottom in comparison to the other races and cultures in the uk and they justify away their laziness to change the system or create an infrastructure for the future generation...

I am seriously considering moving back to the usa... more violent yes (in some parts) but far more advanced, modern and there is an infrastructure for people of African heritage in america. Non in comparison in the uk absolutely none.

well herein lies one of your major fallacies, so it's no wonder you have confused yourself into being able to say something so ignorant.

there is no &quot;white&quot; culture in a global sense which can apply to everyone who is &quot;white.&quot; So it certainly can't be said that the white culture which produced rabid abolitionists, for example, is the exact same culture that produced rabid members of the KKK. Traveling through this country, it is only obvious to me that the culture of NYC is quite different from the culture of say, Idaho, or Kansas. The culture of George Washington, which allowed him to &quot;own&quot; other people, would be completely foreign to the culture of my ancestors, who were basically serfs and tied to feudal lands held by others. Basically slaves.

Even today, this is readily apparent just in my own family, for example, those members who live outside of NY have a completely different culture than those who stayed. They went backwards, as far as the NY people are concerned.

Culture is a product of socialized individuals as they cope with societal stressors as they form groups and myth making to place themselves and provide identity to the group. It's far from a constant. The Civil War provides us with just one mine from which to pull information to show there was no homogenous white culture in the United States.

So, the only thing to conclude, is that you're thinking about this &quot;wranglee.&quot;
