Actually that's wrong. If one includes contributions to pension plans and other benefits the amount is closer to $70/hr.

i think you are wrong on that ..i think the $70 number that is being bandied about includes their told obligation to current and retired employees divided by the number of current employees..its a misleading figure

It is very inflated there is no way you could arrive at the compensation of the individual workers by grossing what the Big Three spend for Workers Comp and Wages including dead, dying and retired workers. That is just ridiculous
Toyota USA Workers earn a few more cents base than GM Workers when you disaggregate the gross numbers

Chrysler sold 85,000
Ford sold 118,000
Toyota sold 114,000

My question is ...why is <span style="font-weight: bold">ANYONE</span> buying a GM, Ford or Chrysler product if threat of possible bankruptcy may mean that warranty support may or may not be there when the vehicle needs servicing?
