Whats your take of the two comunities?
Whats the pros and cons of having property in any of the two?

What the commerce driving Ft Myers ? Whats the crime like? Demographics? Beaches? Black community? Universitys? Access to intl airport?

I'm guessing Disney for Orlando?

Any (constructive) input would be appreciated.

I considered buying property in florida and based on my research fort myers wins hands down.

But I`m sure the floridians will have more to say on this.

There is no industry in Ft Meyers. Well Geriatrics is an industry, so I take that back.

Ft Myers is beautiful. Lots of development and construction, but no industry. There is a public university there, and an outlet mall, I think there is an arena for some minor league team.

I didn't look at the cenus data that Kia posted, but the demographics are...mostly whites. Small minority community of all others.

No nightlife, lots of chain restaurants. If you are into fine dining, you will not find it here.

Orlando has disney and universal of course and all the tourism that surrounds that. Orlando also has a lot of high tech companies, many with goverment contracts that feed off the space station.

It's landlocked, so no beach.

Mixed demographic, young, old, black, white, and a large hispanic community. Lots of nightlife, pretty large Jamaican community.

Everything that Pepper say, the beaches for Orlando are 45mins - 1hour away
Daytona, Cocoa, New Smyma .
