Bay Village teens accused of dumping urine on student in fake ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: Reaction
A Bay High School alumnus is rallying support after a student with autism was doused in urine and feces that his peers claimed was part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Before tonight's football game, the community will rally for autism awareness at the high school. Students will also be collecting money for autism research and Autism Speaks.
On Wednesday, the 14-year-old victim's parents reported the incident to Bay Village police. They said the teens dumped a bucket of urine, feces and spit on the special-needs student, andrecorded it on the victim's phone.
Bay Village Police Chief Mark Spaetzel said his department is reviewing the video and hopes to bring charges against those involved. Though the incident took place off of school grounds, Bay superintendent Clint Keener said school officials will take disciplinary action once the police investigation in complete.
The story has sparked outrage on cleveland.com.
