Preying on foreign men
Dear Pastor,
Why do some Jamaican women think that it is fun to prey on men who travel overseas? My son went to Jamaica and met a woman whom he started visiting in Jamaica on a regular basis. He told me the girl has a baby for him. I wanted to ask if he was sure the child was his, but I stayed out of their business.
He was working and supporting the child. He told me that he would not be like his father and not take care of his child. I told him that if the child is his then he should care from him. He has sent thousands of dollars to the mother for the child and I was happy to see that he was nothing like his father.
Very suspicious
I kept telling him to ask the child's mother to send a picture and he said he did. We waited and waited, but no picture. I started to get very suspicious and told him to ask her again for a picture. He told me that each time he would ask her she would make a fuss. I questioned why she would refuse to send a picture and he told me that he didn't think the child is his. I told him of my earlier suspicion and that I didn't want to raise my concern. I tried to mind my own business.
Never convenient
He told me whenever he went to visit her house it was never convenient for them to stay there. They always stayed at a hotel. She didn't allow him to speak with her stepfather or other guys in the area, claiming they were no good. My son was so naive that he did not "pick up the rake". He stopped sending money and calling and the girl never called back.
How can we find out if the child is my son's child? If he is, I am willing to take him in and raise him as my own. God forbid that my son's child would suffer. I know what suffering is, my kids and I were so poor we couldn't even go to church on Sundays all because we did not have clothes to wear. When I remember that it makes me worry about the child. Please help me.

Dear B.C.,
Evidently your son has now come to realise that he is not the father of the child. The child's mother has not even made an effort to find out what is wrong. The matter should be left alone. Tell your son not to have unprotected sex with any woman and not to spend his money freely on women when he comes to Jamaica. If he does, he's going to get shafted.
