The Fords made the surprise move Friday before the 2 p.m. deadline for candidates to add or remove their names from the ballot for the Oct. 27 vote.
Rob Ford’s withdrawal came just before 1 p.m. After some problems with paperwork, Doug Ford was confirmed as mayoral candidate after 1 p.m.
Rob Ford is now candidate for Ward 2 Etobicoke North, the seat he held from 2000 until 2010. It is expected that the Fords’ nephew, Michael Ford, will withdraw as a council candidate in that ward.
Rob Ford was polling, after a chaotic, scandal-filled term, in second place, behind John Tory but ahead of Olivia Chow, when stomach pain sent him to the hospital Wednesday.

Some are already speculating that if Doug Ford can win the race for Mayor and Rob ford is elected councillor, Doug Ford could make his brother Deputy Mayor and then down the road potentially step down as Mayor making Rob Ford Mayor again.

To add to my post above....
Is it not strange that the nephew was there running for city councillor so that the brothers could bump him and switch things up?
Is it possible that this was plan B all along if ROFO found himself trailing in the polls?
