Evan De GG will fine a way round the fridey/satidey functions. Dem will even go to functions whey poak is served. Memba sey dem no eat nutten unclean themselves i.e., shrimps, mackerel, lobster (all fish without scale) poakie and everything else dat Leviticus sey dem no fe eat. Dem not so strict nowadays. Me have one Anty who became a Seventh Day Adventist in 1946 and when I was a likkle gal dem neva mek up fire pan satidey. Anyway, she is very young at heart and if you cook pan satidey dem we nyam eh den dem sidung and wait for you to wash up de plates. If you owe dem money dem we tek eh pan de sabbath. One time long ago dem would not do any business at all pan de sabbath. I have seen dem come a long way. At 89 she has mellowed and she not so strict anymore. She going to TN to a wedding in March and den to NYC to stay wid me fi a couple of months. Me aggo cook me poak same way for a mifi house but me memba when me used to live wid har a Mt. Vernon me and mi cousin used to cook de poak a nighttime because she worked 3 - 11 and when she come home she used to smell de food and she would sey unno cook and no leff none fi me - a wha oonu did cook? all of us say "cow foot".

Re: how a SDA GG a go mek Friday n Satiday social events
No you can even cook de poak and dem we eat eh if you tell dem say something else. Dem never cook eh so dem no know how eh smell or taste especially if you curry de poak. Like you could mix trotters wid cow foot and dem wont know the difference. Me rasta cousin did naym some cook up turkey business a sumaddy yard and when him done eat he asked dem what was and dem joakingly tell him poak and him vammit.

A former government Minister is adding his voice to those commenting on the pending appointment of the President of the West Indies Union of Seventh Day Adventists Dr. Patrick Allen as the country's next Governor General.
Former Minister of State in the Peoples National Party's Cabinet, Floyd Morris, himself a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, <span style="font-weight: bold">insisted that much of the debate comes from people who do not understand the Adventist faith.</span>
Mr. Morris asserted that as it relates to the Governor General's assent to the carrying out of the death penalty, his Christian conviction will not impede this duty.
"The parliament takes a decision and the Governor General will give his ascent to legislation. I am certain that he is not appointed to be a representative of the Adventists at Kings House, he is appointed to be the Governor General, the representative of the Queen, and as such he is carrying out a function where he is giving royal ascent to these legislation,"
<span style="font-weight: bold">He said the events associated with Saturdays, the day observed as Sabbath, such as funerals, will not be a problem for the Governor General to participate in. </span>
"I don't think there is going to be a major problem certainly from where I have sat as a Minister of State and as a member of the Adventist Church. I can't recall any state function being held during the Sabbatical hours," said Mr. Morris.
Mr. Morris achieved prominence when he became the first visually impaired person to be named a Government Minister.
