Young Jamaican songstress Cherine Anderson will perform at the two inauguration balls for President-elect Barack Obama this weekend in Washington, DC, United States.
On Monday, January 19, Cherine joins in celebrating the change in US presidential leadership by performing at 'The Green Ball'.
The event, hosted by former vice-president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore is sold out and takes place at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Center. There, Anderson will perform alongside John Legend, Maroon 5 and Melissa Etheridge.
Anderson will perform again on Tuesday, January 20, at 'The Peace Ball', which will be held at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, and is hosted by Harry Belafonte.
Anderson says, "It feels wonderful to be a part of an event that is so historic. This will be one of the biggest celebrations, so I am working very hard to give a memorable performance to honour the occasion."
