Carry some old photos when you visit or a
copy of something from the past dug up on the internet.
Reminds me..I would get the best reactions by taking an old photo to one of those enlargement deals at the drug store and have it enlarged an put in a $store frame.

we used to have a 93 yr old we used to visit . What we did over a couple of visits was chronicle her high school days..was very interesting..we taped it first , then transcribed it..Comment

On one hand it is funny, but on the other... it is a great way to record their past events or knowledge - some day you will be thankful for the family history. My mom is one of the last from her 'era' so we are cataloguing her photos and adding the timelines and stories around them, otherwise our children won't know a thing about their family history.
