i hope obama's term does for this generation, what mlk did for yours.
it isnt about the man for me (not that it is for you, cuz that isnt what i'm saying), it is a reminder of all the things my parents tought me, brought into fruition on a grander scale.

People ask Black folks in the US if they ever thought they would have a Black President (ok Blu save it, he's Black to ME), and I say no because such a bizarre thought never entered my mind, and now here it is about to happen.

Marilyn I know exactly what you must have been feeling...tremendous pride coupled with fear simultaneously...

today I saw the Notorious BIG movie and there was a scene when Tupac told him to enjoy the rise to fame as that was the best part..once you get to the top it's just more problems...Biggie was shot to death at the height of his fame...I couldn't help to think back to Obama

BUT

what great pride...to have lived this moment and share the same moment in time...truly a humbling experience...i can look at my children and tell them they can be ANYTHING they want to be if they put their minds to it.

I have taken the day off to watch it live on television,...couple friends of mine have booked tickets to the states,even though they havent managed to get accomodation.

observing Obama since the Rev Wright speech has made me no longer need to wonder what its like to live during the time of a truly exceptional human being.

Tuff times ahead, but as him sey, its not about him, its about us as a people..

Spontaneously everyone in the church joined hands, and there my congregation was, one large unbroken circle.

So it happened again, because right then and there it was 1968 all over, and I was 16, and the movement was in full force.
