well based of the meaning of "Negro" my take is I'm definately a NEGRO.. even more so than a "Black"
Just as our pigment challenged brothers and sisters and more Caucasian than "White"
As for Colored.. Me thinks we ALL friking "Colored"

that question seems directed at a plural but i'm only a singular...

when around 'whites' i'm black...when around 'caucasians' i'm nubian...when around 'europeans' i'm african

the spanish language has a latin as its base. In latin the word for black is niger or atra..soo does it matter if one is more spanish black, latin black or english black?

the name does not bother me. It is historical and reminds me of the struggles our ancestors had to be bear to earn a sliver of equality in the americas after the invasion of the europeans.

i feel you but if they call my people '<span style="font-weight: bold">negros</span>' in an english-speaking country, and all men (& women) are created equal, then i would insist that whites are called '<span style="font-weight: bold">blancos</span>'...
if not i would demand an explanation why...
if they insist they are 'caucasian' then ii would ask them why they choose a moniker that represents a geographic region, but choose a moniker for me that is based on a color...

The word 'mzungu' means a white person in Swahili. Language used in Kenya and Tanzania, and understood in Uganda.
The plural is 'wazungu'. Which I have tried to convey to Blu, its principal user, without any success.
