I hope it will be positive. Obama is not in office to "save the African race". He is there to serve ALL. The fact that he is African American however is positive as it impresses upon ALL ethnicities that anyone can be what they want if they work hard and use their brains (work hard smartly). It sure break a lot of stereo types about the limited industries that people of African heritage can be successful in.

I didn't think he could win but I am glad he did. That was partly by his clever positioning and partly because the wider americans dedcided to take a chance with him for change. I am prepared to give this politian the benefit of the doubt. He cannot do whatever he is expected to do alone and it may not all be done in 4 years either.

after researching & reading up on all the candidates (democrat & republican) at the time they threw their hat in the race, he was the one who made the most sense to my family and we decided to do what was needed to help him in.

The color of his skin did not impact our decision but it it make it easier for us to choose him I have no expectations that he will be the great deliverer for black people as others do but moreso as a man who can effectively lead and unite to work for what makes sense for the US

Mind you all you said is correct, but if is me to conjure up something like because I am a dare devil hear me,

Obama proves that only the first degree mixed of blacks amount to the farthest of anything blacks attempt to do. After all he is not only of the African race. Don't be biased
As he is no full representer, I call upon you to take up the challenge
The two stereotypes about the half and the whole remains, indeed it is an inspiration for us black people to work harder.

It does not break any stereotype it reinforces them. even to the one work hard and go to heaven or some other reward o ye faithful servants.
