What ideas do you entertain in the redevelopment of downtown Kingston ..
For me ..
Boulevards, Parks, Bike paths, walkways, playing fields along
East Queen Street to about Mountain View
Along Spanish Town Road to Six Miles ..
from North PArade to Cross Roads along King St and between Love Lane and say .. Slipe Rd.
including Heroes Circle and East St sections
No cross streets to intersect ..
automobiles use over passes ..
no private dwellings allowed within this space ..
a person could walk from downtown to CrossRoads without seeing a car ..
extend the theme to HalfWay Tree and up to Papine ..
For displaced persons ..
the rebuilding would contain multiple forms of single family, row-houses 2 / 3 flats ..
owners would get first choices on which type of house they want .
they would have the option of using the sale price of their house as a down payment/payment on a new unit ..
renters would also have the same/similar opportunity ..
Zone South Parade to waterfront .. commercial from Princess St to East St
Mulit-purpose all other areas
Major thoroughfares .. 3flats with stores / light manufacturing on lower levels .. apts above
Rebuild East Kingston into mixed commercial ..
single family - row houses - 2 flats ..
including Southside and Tel Aviv..
Push North through Allman Town etc.
into Cross Roads ..
from .. lets say South Camp Road to Orange St / Slipe Road
A large KSAC workforce to tend to amenities multiple times daily .. markets - park houses - roadways - ect.
