a 'more african-looking' girl won this time...
surprising -with the standard of beauty usually accepted by the 'habeshas' of ethiopia...
a long time mi a likk out gainst that term and a seh ethiopia is for all its people and not just the 'habeshas'...
but then again i always sense politics in beauty pageants & still don't support the concept...anyway:

A girl from Gambela has scooped the 2009 Miss Ethiopia title-and will go on to represent her country in Miss World Cultural Heritages.
Chuna Okok, a 22-year-old university student, won through Miss Ethiopia final, beating off other 20 finalists at the event in Addis last week.
Remembering the moment her name was called out as the winner, Chuna says, “it was a mixture of shock, excitement and happiness.’
Chuna’s road to the competition had a ring of luck to it, receiving an award of diamond worth 60,000 birr.
“She is a lovely girl” says one of the runner-up, “She had real grace on stage and looked beautiful on that night.”
Most pervious winners have been from Addis Ababa and other nearby towns. But a win for a girl from Gambella, a town which is 800 km away from Addis, is remarkably unusual.
Winning Miss Ethiopia meant Chuna also is going to take part in Miss World cultural Heritage of 2009 due to be held in Namibia this year. Good luck!
