Can I add that after Osiris fought with Set (good v evil) Set was chopped up into many pieces. 'They' tried to put the pieces togher, but the only bit 'they' couldn't find was his penis.

These monuments, found in ALL MAJOR western cities - including St Peter's Square at the home of catholicism - relate to Set and his penis - occult/masonic/secret society fertility stuff that makes sense to people who are into that sort of thing.

Some actually believe that he was a murderer...that he systematically killed thousands of his political opponents including Ras Gugsa, Zawditu's husband.

it was a tradition to change your name upon ascension to the throne...

one must realize that at the time of his coronation, ethiopia had been isolated from the outside world for hundreds of years and had no modern technology or concept of modernity....
the other colonized nations of africa were actually more technologically &amp; educationally advanced because of the european presence (albeit a ruling one)...
one has to realize he was surrounded by hostile european powers and had no african allies- they were all colonies;
no one says people have to like selassie, but the endless attacks on him by blacks is strange in context of his historical position;

at the start of his reign THERE WERE NO INDEPENDENT BLACK COUNTRIES EXCEPT HAITI AND LIBERIA (U.S.A. BLACK COLONISTS LIBERIA)...
his mission was to reverse this...
at the end of his reign all but maybe 2 or 3 african countries were now independent- mozambique, zimbabawe and south africa...
