SATSUMA, Fla. - Investigators say they're treating the disappearance of a five-year-old north Florida girl as an abduction.
The Putnam County sheriff's office says they are assuming she was abducted because house-to-house searches of the neighbourhood found no evidence that she wandered away. Haleigh Cummings was last seen Monday night in her father's mobile home in Satsuma, about 110 kilometres north of Orlando.
Haleigh was reported missing when her father returned home from work early Tuesday.
His girlfriend had woken up and discovered the child was missing.
Authorities have searched the neighbourhood and divers have probed the adjoining St. Johns River.

Re: I hope I'm wrong
CNN) — The father of a missing 5-year-old Florida girl says he suspects his daughter was snatched from her bed Monday night.
Haleigh Cummings has been missing since 10 p.m. ET Monday, when her father’s girlfriend called 911 to say the child had vanished from her Putnam County home.
“All I want is my child … please … all I want is my child,” Ronald Cummings told reporters Wednesday, his voice breaking.
Cummings’ girlfriend, Misty Croslin, told a 911 dispatcher that she went to the bathroom and returned to find the girl gone and a brick on the floor by the back door, according to CNN affiliate WJXT-TV.

Re: I hope I'm wrong
Haleigh's father told investigators the blond girl was missing when he returned home from work around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Ronald Cummings said his girlfriend was awake and frantic that Haleigh was missing from her bed.
"I just got home from work and my 5-year-old daughter is gone," Ronald Cummings told a dispatcher on a 911 call. "If I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I'm killing them. I don't care if I spend the rest of my life in prison."
His girlfriend, Misty Croslin, said she had been sleeping next to Haleigh but when she awoke, the girl was gone.
