I think un-Earnest Smith is using the funny man issue to hide his own insecirites and he and his Government failures on crime.

Yes I think it is a serious crime. It is one of the crimes that the Government has failed to curb. Gay and Buggering is not mutually exclusive and should not be use as interchangeable items. This is another fraud argument.

In the first place AIDS contraction and submission does not rely on Gay Sex to the exclusion of all else.

Secondly the Minster made not mention of STD or Sex in his arguments, so it not clear that even he was equating the spread of STD with gays or violence.

Member of Parliament (MP) for South West St. Ann Ernest Smith <span style="font-weight: bold">has suggested that the authorities deny homosexuals licensed firearms.</span>

During Tuesday's Parliamentary debate on the Sex Offenders Act, the St. Ann M.P. described homosexuals as violent people who should not be allowed to carry licensed firearms.

&quot;I am very concerned at the extent to which homosexual activities seem to have overtaken this country ... I am very concerned that homosexuals in Jamaica have become so brazen, they've formed themselves into organizations and are abusive, violent and something that the Ministry of National Security must look into is why is it that so many homosexuals are licensed firearm holders,&quot; said Mr. Smith.

<span style="font-weight: bold">The MP also claimed that based on reports he had seen, that there are too many homosexuals in the police force</span>.

&quot;There was a report recently which has never been challenged that our security forces, particularly the Jamaican Constabulary Force, have been overrun by homosexuals ... there was a front page report in one of our daily newspapers, which has never been challenged,&quot; said Mr. Smith.

No one is saying that homophobia is a mental disorder. Everyone knows it is a social disorder.

You could use the same test and substitute Jews, or Blacks, or women, and see where you lie on the spectrum of people who have an &quot;<span style="font-style: italic">unreasoning fear of or antipathy </span> &quot; towards that group of people.

The whole premise of this argument it to give a person, in this case a lawyer and an elected official Carte Blanc to lie and the deceive when they find themselves inadequate and not up to the task. That is the real essence of what Blu is advocating here.
