I was surprised they let him use his cell phone...they must have been tried or just amateurs.

The two cops accused of threatening the life of Observer journalist Julian Richardson have been removed from front line duties and an investigation opened into the matter, the police have said.

Richardson had reported that two Saturdays ago he had stopped at a vendor in Manor Park on his way home when cops in a patrol car accosted him and demanded the documents for his car.

The reporter said he was told that he would be charged with obstructing traffic but the police offered to drop the charge if he bought them refreshments.

The reporter said his refusal and accusation that the cops were trying to bribe him resulted in a verbal assault from the policemen who threatened to shoot him if he reported the matter.

&quot;We take these allegations very seriously. At this point in time an independent investigator, not from the St Andrew North Police Division, has started an investigation into the matter,&quot; head of the St Andrew North Police Division, Anthony Morris, told the Observer while warning that serious action would be taken on the outcome of the matter.

the criminals know and are usually well prepared for the usual stratefy.
In those cases one has to use the most inlikelt tact to nutralize them.

the criminals went to the police station and lied to the sargeant,who believed them.

well according to Jamaican laws, a police cannot give witness against another police office in favour of a civilian.
