Again w/'gay struggle' in JA-but what about ...

I was flipping thru the current issue <span style="font-style: italic">(Halle Berry on cover)</span> of Essence yesterday and came across – surprise surprise, yet another article – neigh - <span style="font-weight: bold">“Expose”</span> - on homophobia &amp; the gay rights struggle in Jamaica.

Got home and later read about the prominent business man arrested in Kingston for incest.

You know ... I wonder just how much of a beat down the media is going to give JA on it’s homosexual stance?

It’s not going to change – ok – maybe – but not in my lifetime.

Is it right to take the life of someone who is or suspected to be a homosexual?

No – not in my opinion anyway.

But I just wish as bright a light could shine on the issue of the rabid child abuse going on and all that it entails – just as bright as the gay rights ‘struggle’ going on in JA.

Thank goodness I didn’t pay money for this magazine.

it's because jamaica is the easy &amp; fashionable target-

they can't go to iran or any other muslim countris and gwaan wid it but they choose to tek set pon j-a;

i never see them in iran-- frikkin hypocrites

The Editor, Sir:

I am a proud Jamaican living in the United States, but after reading an article in Essence magazine, titled 'Trouble in Paradise', I am truly ashamed.

This article outlined how members of the homosexual community are harassed, beaten and murdered, all because of their sexual persuasion. This is an outrage! When are some of us going to start acting civilly?

Even if these offenders believe it is a sin to be homosexual, leave these people alone! What is also pitiful is that law enforcement officers also help to ridicule them.

I think its right to continue to highlight the homophobic problem in jamaica,in my opinion Jamaicans are far too obsessed with homosexuals when there are so many other social ills affecting the island.

I would certainly agree with the sanctimonious sentiment,for a country that is supposedly &quot;christian&quot; if only everyone practised a little bit more compassion and tolerance and respect each other`s human rights regardless of sexual orientation,instead of the self-righteous hypocrisy and sanctimonious christian b...sheet.
