Just for Gen...NY Trip Report

I left Toronto at noon on Sunday and headed towards Buffalo even though my flight was at 6:49 p.m. I figured since we had lots of snow in Brampton, perhaps the roads may be bad and delays at the border, so better safe than sorry. Turned out the roads were clear, no snow and no hold up at the border. With the extra time, I went to my friend's church, hang for a bit and then headed to Buffalo International Airport.

Got to the airport very early. The nice check in lady asked if I wanted to go on the 5:00 p.m. flight at no extra charge...I smiled and accepted.

Arrived in NY earlier than my guest expected however just as I settled in my room and was about to eat chinese food (cause Tilly didn't answer me on Yahoo ...I really wanted Jamaican food) he called me. He asked me to make it over to his hotel. I thought it stranged since his conference wasn't rapping up until 9:30 p.m. I went anyway.

Got there and experienced what Blu said earlier. He brought me into their private conference after getting special access for me. Met some big names and heard I was discussed in front of hundreds of people. Lord help me.

I was up until way after 3:00 a.m. rubbing elbows with folks that I've only read about. That was pretty cool.

Monday morning he called me to join him for breakfast at 7:30. Grrrrrrr. I was tired but we were both returning home that evening so why not. Showered, got ready and went back to his hotel.

Met him in the lobby, again spoke with some rich and famous folks. I kept hearing, &quot;oh you're the <span style="font-style: italic">Compry </span>they spoke about last night.&quot; Then it was time to go eat, got in the elevator, and though it felt like it moved, we were stuck.

Sadly, we were stuck along with another friend. Any ideas of things to do when an elevator is stuck disappeared.

It was the funniest conversation. The operator kept asking silly questions and Pat would try to remain calm. In typical Compry style...I pushed all those lit buttons. Hey I figured if I pushed a button maybe the thing would move.

My friend was so calm. I actually found it quite exciting since it was my first time.
