He's a smart guy, as smart as Bill Clinton, if not more, in terms of brain power. I wouldn't diminish his rhodes scholarship; it's a big deal, in my opinion. I'm sure he got it on the merits, and not because of any connections he had. He just lacks stage presence, he's charisma-challenged, he was given a ridiculous speech to read in response to Obama's, his story-telling was childish, and he's ambitious enough to allign himself with the backward, anti-science wing of the republican party if he feels that's the best way to ascend to the top of that party's establishment.
