He's a smart guy, as smart as Bill Clinton, if not more, in terms of brain power. I wouldn't diminish his rhodes scholarship; it's a big deal, in my opinion. I'm sure he got it on the merits, and not because of any connections he had. He just lacks stage presence, he's charisma-challenged, he was given a ridiculous speech to read in response to Obama's, his story-telling was childish, and he's ambitious enough to allign himself with the backward, anti-science wing of the republican party if he feels that's the best way to ascend to the top of that party's establishment.

Perhaps he is more intelligent than he leads on to be but with his recent criticisms of funding for volcano monitoring responsible for the safety of many communities situated around geologically active regions in the country, one wonders if he has had many science courses beyond middle school.

u know, the whole time i was watching him AND listening to him dis is wat kept running tru mi mind...as clannish as Indians usually r, u know, maintaining dem close knit communities, it struck mi dat he had spent time, prably him whole life, mekking sure him did not have dat singsongish accent and the tendency to do dem neck , head an hands gestures, dat Indians seem to all have in common...

an of course, he is now sooooo dull and boring...not even a good valley guy accent
