Thieves take TVJ off the air

An early morning break in at the Coopers Hill transmitter site of Television Jamaica has resulted in scores of residents served by Channel 7 being without TVJ service.
Managing Director of the RJR Communications Group Gary Allen said the thieves broke into the St. Andrew based site early Friday morning and made off with petrol and other items.
Mr. Allen said the thieves damaged vital equipment which has impacted on service to Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon and sections of St. Mary.
The police are at the scene of the robbery.
RJR Group engineers are also at Coopers Hill assessing the severity of the damage.
