Would you move from South Florida to Atlanta (Area) (Surrounding counties Dekalb, Dekatur, Cobb, Henry, Clayton, Gwinnett, Fulton, etc)
Or are you more likly to move from Atlanta to Florida?

most of that depends on *where* in S. florida or where in ATL u live.

but as u know florida doan have state taxes....

yes and one thing I dont like is everywhere you have to go you have to hit the highway........and it also depends on the job/career cause the pay/salary sucks in some field.

Both places have it's advantages and dis-advantages. Years ago I considered moving to Hotlanta from South Florida. I loved the topography and just the &quot;tightness&quot; of the Jamaican community there. In a 8 year stretch I visited Atlanta every year. I did not move because I realized the major dis-advantage of not having family. I have a few few friends who move there from South Florida. Here are some of my observations based on my experiences and input from friends who moved from South Florida to Atlanta.

<span style="font-weight: bold">CAREER/JOBS</span>
South Florida - You must have a car. The job market is tough right now but you are not competing again Masters and Doctorates. Pay is not as good as Atlanta.

Atlanta - A car may not be necessary as the train system is fairly reliable. Pay is better than South Florida. The job market is tougher to break into. It is very competitive. In some cases you have to be in a &quot;clique&quot; (graduate from a university there) or know some one higher up.

<span style="font-weight: bold">HOUSING/WHERE YOU LIVE/TAXES</span>
South Florida - Prices are high and you don't get much land. Property taxes and insurance are high. You can grow any crop that grows in Jamaica. No state tax.

Atlanta - Prices are moderate compared to South Florida and you get plenty of land. Insurance and Property tax is lower. My friends often say they could buy a new car every 5 years based on what we pay in South Florida. State Tax

<span style="font-weight: bold">WEATHER</span>
South Florida - Nuff said. I would not give this up. This is what you mostly pay for with the high insurance and property taxes.

Atlanta - Mild.

<span style="font-weight: bold">JAMAICAN COMMUNITY</span>
South Florida - Large Jamaican community. Events everyday. Less than an hour away from Jamaica. Jamaican food and other things are easily available.

Atlanta - Growing Jamaican community. A close knit community. Lots of Jamaican/Caribbean events. Jamaican food and other things are somewhat available but more pricey. Don't expect to easily find every type of fish (goat fish, tirbit and parrot). Also yellow yam etc is seasonal and expensive.

South Florida - Flat with lakes and beaches.

Atlanta - Hilly and lush.
