Effective Monday, consumers of alcoholic beverages will see an increase in the price of some of the products offered by Red Stripe.
In a newspaper advertisement Sunday, the company advised that there will be an adjustment in the cost of its brewed bottled products.
Red Stripe says rising costs, the devaluation of the Jamaican dollar and a continued high inflation rate, have impacted the cost of raw materials.
As a result, customers should expect the recommended retail selling price to increase by no more than $20 in community bars.
However Red Stripe says the amount by which the products will be increased is a recommendation and that it imposes no obligation on retail entities to resell at the recommended price.

The products which will be affected include Red Stripe Beer, Heineken, Guinness, Smirnoff Ice and Malta.
Red Stripe has also announced that it will increase the rates paid for bottle deposits by $5 and crates by $60.
