It's reported that Rihanna and Chris Brown have officially reconciled, despite the violent beating that occurred in February.
While in Miami making up with Rihanna, Brown spent time riding jet skis at P. Diddy's estate.
Singer Chris Brown was spotted ripping through the water on a jet ski in Miami Beach after unbelievably reconciling with girlfriend Rihanna.
"Now they're back together. They're officially reconciled," says Peter Castro, the deputy managing editor of People magazine.
The couple were reunited on Star Island off Miami Beach, at the sprawling estate of P. Diddy. Rihanna kept out of sight, but Brown climbed onto a jet ski and performed some daredevil maneuvers.
After their last meeting, Rihanna's lips were puffed and bloody, her face battered, allegedly beaten and bitten after a violent argument with Brown just hours before the Grammys. The reconciliation is sending shockwaves across America.
"Even to people in her own camp, the reconciliation is shocking. Because no one expected this...so soon," says Castro.
The couple flew home to Los Angeles on a private jet. Rihanna got off the plane and straight into a waiting SUV. Brown stepped off moments later, and followed her into the car.
The reunion came as Brown prepares for his arraignment on March 4th. He is currently free on $50,000 bail. The question now is whether the criminal case against him will come unhinged.
"It is a body blow to the prosecution's case, it's almost impossible to really successfully go after somebody when you have a reluctant victim," legal expert Royal Oakes tells INSIDE EDITION.
The singer's decision to take Brown back despite allegations of a brutal beating has shocked her closest friends. However, Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, says he's supporting her decision no matter what. "I love my daughter with whatever road she takes. I'm behind her win or lose," he said.
Experts say it is common in domestic violence cases for battered women to take their abusers back after they have shown remorse. But it seldom works out.
"It's a very destructive move, and you know, women end up dead, to be perfectly honest, or very badly hurt," says psychiatrist Dr. Gail Saltz.
Chris Brown and Rihanna have even been compared with O.J. Simpson and his wife Nicole. She repeatedly took him back after he beat her.
"The truth is that usually, when there's been physical violence, it doesn't end," Saltz says.
