'Real Housewives' star arrested for assault, denies charges

"Real Housewives of New York City" star Kelly Killoren Bensimon was arrested last week for misdemeanor assault.

The 40-year-old reality star's boyfriend Nicholas Stefanov told police <span style="font-weight: bold">that she punched him in the face, Ne</span>w York's Daily News reports.

In a criminal complaint obtained by the Daily News, <span style="font-weight: bold">Stefanov claimed that Bensimon hit him and caused a laceration below his left eye.</span>

<span style="font-style: italic">The TV star turned herself in on Thursday two days after the alleged incident.</span>

&quot;The allegations are by a jilted lover saying she struck him during the course of an argument,&quot; Bensimon's attorney Stephen Turano tells the paper. &quot;We deny the charges, and we are hopeful this will be resolved.&quot;

<span style="font-style: italic">Stefanov told the Daily News he's still in love with the reality show star, and blames his girlfriend's violent action on the pressure of the show.</span>
Bensimon is due back in court on March 31, says the Daily News.

this culture only sees something wrong with men hitting women...women are actually encouraged to hit, act wild or fly off the handle in this culture

JY - thru out all the thread sover the recent weeks on spousal/domestic abuse - in all the posts about Rhianna and Chris Brown - where was it said or implied that there's nothing wrong with a woman physically abusing a man?

not speaking of any thread, i'm speaking of the culture in which we live...watch any movie or tv show, especially comedy, and you will see some reference of women being violent toward men...usually laughed off as a joke;
you can see it in the school kids...the first thing they do when playing is girls hitting boys;
just speaking from what i observe;
they get enraged whenever they speak of male abuse on women...but are silent when they should also say that it is also absolutely wrong for women to do the same...
i was one disgusted by the chris brown thing, but everytime i hear a new story about them, it involves rihanna raising her hand as well;
he is a coward for beating her down like that...but WOMEN MUST KEEP THEIR HANDS TO THEMSELVES...if you don't like violence then don't practice it

It's not OK for women to hit men, but that's more OK than a man hitting a woman.

NEW YORK (AP) - There won't be any awkward Chris Brown moment at the Kids' Choice Awards - the embattled pop star has withdrawn his name from the ballot.

Brown had been nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for &quot;Kiss Kiss&quot; at the March 28 awards show on Nickelodeon. The nominations came shortly before his arrest for allegedly attacking girlfriend and fellow pop star Rihanna.

A petition had been circulated to take his name off the ballot, but Nickelodeon said yesterday he was still on. On Wednesday, Brown decided to take his name out of consideration.

In a statement, his representatives said while Brown would like to speak directly to his fans, he can't because of his criminal case.

He thanked his fans for their support.
