I know everyone has some.

I worked in a hotel for many years so I have first hand experience as to what can happen when you upset the cook

One year we had this major mouse infestation but dem neva tek action because the mice only came out at night. I was the night manager so when I did my rounds I would see them and report it but I guess seeing is believing.

till one morning dem having Sunday brunch wid a very elaborate buffet set up. The guest dem a goh down the buffet line an all of a sudden dem buck up mickey, minnie an a nex fren a wander down di buffet line as well

one time we were going to eat at Golden Corral and we were waiting for plates and a roach crawled on the table. i screamed and the waiter came over and saw it. I just gave the cashier the receipt and she gave us our money back and i left. I havent eaten at a Golden Corral since

One mothers day a few years ago we went to Red Lobster for dinner and I just started my main course and I felt a piece of string in my mouth I pulled it out and it was a strand of blonde hair

I worked in a large upscale restaurant/bar/banquet facility in Bloomington Mn in the late 1970's along side this cute little Italian girl we'll call Mary to protect the guilty.

Mostly I worked in the jazz piano bar and we had to wear black leotard tops and tights and a little red lion cloth thing and high heels. And serve drinks to obnoxious souls like Billy Martin and nice people like Andre the Giant and everyone in between.

Mary, like I said she was a cute little thing and she was going to school to become a lawyer, came from an upper class family and so on.

Well, all I can tell you is if you said or did anything to tick Mary off, she would spit in your drinks at the bar while adding the mixers! She would stand there and say "take that" and spit in the drink at the bar and then turn around and serve it up with a friendly smile to the unsuspecting offender.

That is just one story. I have much worse ones under my hat.

incidentally I avoid commercial feed like resturants and don't go to bars.

havent eaten from a resturant in years. unless I'm travelling.

The after hours restaurants were always a fun place to go have some fine dining but it wouldn't be fun to work in one back in the day. I never did work in any of those places but I knew lots of people that did!

I imagine it would get plenty tiring to serve up obnoxious drunks after bar close and from what I heard it was. Well, in this one particular restaurant the cook and waitress were good friends. I have heard stories (from the cook himself) of food taken off the grill throw on the floor and then put back on the grill just before being plated an served to unsuspecting obnoxious jerk. More spit, even a little shoe leather involved.

Truly, be kind to your waitron and bartenders!
