I cant believe no one has started a thread about the smackdown Jon Stewart gave CNBC's Kramer

I didnt hear about it until today when one of my client's wouldn stop talking about the blood bath on Comedy Central

I didn't know we had fans of Jon Stewart on this board. Most people always quote the 'legitimate' news sources like CNN; occasionally somebody will post something from HuffPo. I will hear about some news during the day, then I wait to see the angle from which Stewart and Colbert will <span style="font-style: italic">cove</span>r it, and usually their <span style="font-style: italic">coverage</span> is more insightful than mainstream media.

Yeah, last week Jon Stewart eviscerated CNBC for essentially being in bed with corporate America, buying their BS, so much so that they failed to ask the pointed questions, allowed themselves to be lied to in other cases, some of their hosts, including Kramer, made a bunch of wrong predictions, notably about companies that have failed, and that CNBC as a whole totally lacked credibility. Stewart did what the mainstream media fails to do or cannot do, and that is, call a station like CNBC for what it is - a purveyor of BS. Doesn't it sound familiar to the run-up to the Iraq war. So it took a fake news host like Stewart to do some real journalism.

Check on the Comedy Central website if you find the video of Stewart calling out CNBC. Rick Santelli, some reporter there, was supposed to appear on the Daily Show about some comments he had made on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He cancelled, and that's where the smackdown started.

that's just it.....mainstream media loves to label John as &quot;just a comedian&quot; and he isnt anything of the sort

I am in love with John Stewart Any man with a razor sharp mind like his....well....I'll leave that part alone

I dont get to watch him as often as I would like because of the time he is on. But my client who knows I love Stewart reminded me I can watch online. I never seem to remember that.
Truth be told, I was shocked as hell that Kramer even agreed to show up. But he was expecting some jokes and a bit of ribbing for the ratings, only to find out that John was not playing atall.

How can Kramer be &quot;objective&quot; when he admits that he is friends with these idiots? It is about entertainment and not education but while he is throwing cows between his legs, the average person takes his advice and loses all that they have worked for in a blink.

Eviscerated is right and deservedly so.

I heard tonight that on NPR and earlier on the BBC that Stewart had single handily destroyed the whole CNBC network. No &quot;show&quot; about investing will ever be taken seriously again... especially Kramer.

I found out a long time ago that if people relied on mainstream media for their information, they will remain ignorant, which, unfortunately, is how I'd describe a large chunk of American society. There are some other media houses I'd also like to see being cut down to size, including CNN.

I watch The Daily Show and when then whole thing started Jon Stewart was aiming his arrows at CNBC as a whole and their non-reporting/investigating on the financial meltdown, so he called them out on that. Cramer decided to be the pig that bawl when yu fling the stone in the pen and thats how he ended up in the hot seat. But you can see Stewart stressing during the program that it was not about him per se but the entire network that operated as cheerleaders for the CEOs and wouldn't ask any tough questions when they supposed to be &quot;financial experts&quot;.

It was a thing of beauty to watch though. Cramer was on The Today Show and Morning Joe earlier in the week just running him mout and talking how Jon Stewart is just a &quot;comedian&quot; the same way they say Obama was a &quot;community organizer&quot; so I was like obviously you have never watched the show cause him going to sheg you! So said so done.

Edit: Oh also wanted to say the &quot;smackdown&quot; was more than the 8 minutes it was almost the entire show and the unedited version which is even longer can be seen on comedy central website.

It seems the guys were given the same script!
